Diane Darrow
Diane Darrow is from the San Francisco Bay Area and is currently the Director of Educational Technology at Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose, CA. She is a former elementary and preschool teacher, professor, Information Media Specialist, Librarian, Technology Coach, and Apple Professional Development Specialist. Her career began as an artist. She received a BFA at Indiana University and then an MFA at the University of Delaware in painting. Her educational training includes Early Childhood (Montessori), Reading Recovery, Masters work in Gifted Education at the University of Connecticut, and an Online Teaching Certificate through CUE's Leading Edge Certification program.
Diane Darrow’s teaching career spans 25 years and extends from pre-school, to University level instruction. Her recent work has revolved around integrating iPads with literacy and Project-Based Learning. She is constantly looking for innovative ways to improve the quality of instruction in schools with mobile technology and has written several blog posts for Edutopia (edutopia.org) about how apps can promote higher order thinking and creative abilities. She has curriculum design experiences that include a varied selection of teaching methodologies and approaches to instruction.
